DRIVER EDUCATION
REGISTRATION INFORMATION Durham School of the Arts will be offering its first Driver Education class this year starting Monday November 2nd until Friday November 13th. The class will go from 4:00pm to 7:00pm Monday thru Friday for two weeks. The class will be held in room G012. Sign-up will start at 12:01am on October 19th on DPS webpage under driver education. The class is open to any public school student, Durham private schools and students who live in Durham County. If you have any questions please email [email protected]. Below are the directions to sign up: Go to the Durham Public Schools main webpage (www.dpsnc.net) Click on “Driver Education” on the left under Quick Links Another window might open so please make sure to turn off your blockers Underneath the picture of the car click on Click here to view available Driver Ed classes Another window might open so please make sure to turn off your blockers Click on the name of the HIGH SCHOOL where your child will take the class Click “Add to Cart” Click “Check Out” You must SIGN UP FOR AN ACCOUNT. Once an account is created you must Add Student Profile (this lets us know who is taking the class) STUDENT PROFILE - PUT Phone Number not ID number Once that is done Click on the “Select Student Profile” to select your child's name Then follow directions for Address and Payment Information. Debit and/or Credit cards are the only acceptable forms of payment. Students need to bring their "Order Number" printed out on the first day of class. There are no refunds so once a student signs up please have them come.

Come out to learn about assistance opportunities in the community for health care, housing, mentors, childcare, academic advancement services and more. ●●●● Attention seniors and their parents: If you would like extra help with college applications and essay writing, come to DSA on Saturday, Sept. 26 and/or Saturday, Oct. 24 from 9-12. Counselors, teachers, and Duke students will be available for one on one assistance. You can come any time and leave at any time between 9 and 12. ●●●● A Governor’s School interest meeting will be held Monday, September 21st from 6-8 pm at the Staff Development Center. Come out and learn all about this unique summer opportunity. You should bring to the fair 5 or more copies of your unofficial transcript, SAT/ACT scores, 3 letters of recommendation, your resume, and an essay on the topic: “Why I Want To Attend College”.
